What actually belongs above the fold

The first screen has one job: let the visitor decide whether to keep reading. Here is a practical checklist that works on both mobile and desktop.

One job, not five

The first screen is not a summary of the company. It is a filter. The visitor is deciding whether this page is relevant enough to continue. Everything competing with that decision is noise.

The four elements

A headline that names the outcome, not the category. 'Turn your website into a customer growth system' does more work than 'Digital solutions provider'.

One or two supporting sentences that say who it is for and how it works.

A single primary action, with an optional lower-commitment secondary action.

A small, honest credibility signal — capabilities, a named team, or a real client logo if one exists.

Mobile is the real design

Most first impressions happen on a phone. Design the first screen at 360px width first: if the headline, one sentence and the primary action do not fit comfortably, the desktop version is misleading you.
